REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS AND DEATHS (IRELAND) ACT, 1863 (SECTIONS 17 AND 18) (LOUTH) ORDER, 1994.

An tArd-Chláraitheoir, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Sections 17 and 18 of the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863, hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Registration of Births and Deaths (Ireland) Act, 1863 (Sections 17 and 18) (Louth) Order, 1994.

2. The existing Superintendent Registrars' Districts of Ardee, Drogheda and Dundalk shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Superintendent Registrar's District to be known as the Superintendent Registrar's District of Dundalk.

3. The division of the County of Louth into Registrars' Districts shall be varied as follows:

( a ) The existing Registrars' Districts of Collon No. 1, Drogheda No. 1, Drogheda No. 3 and Dunleer shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Drogheda No. 1.

( b ) The existing Registrars' Districts of Barronstown, Carlingford and Ravensdale shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Cooley.

( c ) The existing Registrars' Districts of Castlebellingham, Dundalk No. 2 and Louth shall be amalgamated and shall together form one Registrar's District to be known as the Registrar's District of Dundalk No. 2.

4. This Order shall come into operation on the 1st day of October, 1994.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

The effect of this Order is to amalgamate certain Superintendent Registrars' Districts and Registrars' Districts in the County of Louth so as to reduce the number of such districts in that county.
