EUROPEAN COMMUNITIES (PESTICIDE RESIDUES) (CEREALS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1995.

I, IVAN YATES, Minister for Agriculture, Food and Forestry, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by Section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 , (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 86/362/EEC of 24 July, 1986⁽¹⁾as amended by Council Directive 88/298/EEC of 16 May, 1988⁽²⁾ Council Directive 93/57/EEC of 29 June, 1993⁽³⁾ and Council Directive 94/29/EC of 23 June 1994⁽⁴⁾, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) (Amendment), Regulations, 1995, and shall come into operation on 1st July, 1995.

(2) The European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) Regulations 1988 and 1993, and these Regulations, may be cited as the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) Regulations 1988 to 1995, and shall be construed as one.

2. In these Regulations—

"the Principal Regulations" means the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) Regulations, 1988 ( S.I. No. 216 of 1988 ).

"the Regulations of 1993" means the European Communities (Pesticide Residues) (Cereals) (Amendment) Regulations, 1993 ( S.I. No. 316 of 1993 ).

3. The Schedule to Principal Regulations is hereby amended by:

( a ) the insertion in Annex II (as amended by the Regulations of 1993) after entry No. 46, of the following text:

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These regulations amend existing ones by setting maximum pesticide residue limits for a further 12 active substances in Annex II.
