TRANSPORT, ENERGY AND COMMUNICATIONS (ALTERATION OF NAME OF DEPARTMENT AND TITLE OF MINISTER) ORDER, 1997 | ||
The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act, 1939 (No. 36 of 1939) hereby order as follows: 1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Transport, Energy and Communications (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order, 1997. | ||
(2) This Order shall come into operation on the 12th day of July, 1997. 2. The name of the Department of State, the present name whereof is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Iompair, Fuinnimh agus cumarsáide and in the English language, the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Fiontar Poiblí and in the English language, to that of the Department of Public Enterprise. 3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Iompair, Fuinnimh agus Cumarsáide and, in the English language, the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications, is hereby altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Fiontar Poiblí and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Public Enterprise. 4. In any enactment— | ||
( a ) references to the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications shall be construed as references to the Department of Public Enterprise; | ||
( b ) references to the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications shall be construed as references to the Minister for Public Enterprise. | ||

EXPLANATORY NOTE. | ||
This Order changes the name of the Department of Transport, Energy and Communications to that of the Department of Public Enterprise, and the title of the Minister for Transport, Energy and Communications to that of the Minister for Public Enterprise. |
