S.I. No. 190/2000 - European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000.

I, JOE WALSH, Minister for Agriculture and Food and Rural Development, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purposes of giving effect to Council Directive 96/25/EC of 29 April, 1996¹ and for the purpose of giving further effect to Commission Directive 82/471/EC of 30 June, 1982² , as amended, hereby make the following Regulations:

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) (Amendment) Regulations, 2000.

(2) The European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 to 1999 and these Regulations may be cited collectively as the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 to 2000.

2. The European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 are hereby amended by—

(a) the substitution in Regulation 2(1) of the following definition for the definition of “the Directive of 1982”

“the Directive of 1982” means Council Directive 82/471/EEC of 30 June, 1982² , as amended by—

Council Directive No. 83/228/EEC of 18 April, 1983³ ,

Commission Directive No. 84/443/EEC of 26 July, 1984⁴ ,

Second Commission Directive No. 85/509/EEC of 6 November, 1985⁵ ,

Commission Directive No. 86/530/EEC of 28 October, 1986⁶ ,

Commission Directive No. 88/485/EEC of 26 July, 1988⁷ ,

Commission Directive No. 89/520/EEC of 6 September, 1989⁸ ,

Commission Directive No. 90/439/EEC of 24 July, 1990⁹ ,

Commission Directive No. 93/26/EEC of 4 June, 1993¹⁰ ,

Commission Directive No. 93/56/EEC of 29 June, 1993¹¹ ,

Commission Directive No. 95/33/EC of 10 July, 1995¹² ,

Council Directive No. 95/69 of 22 December, 1995¹³ ,

Council Directive No. 96/25/EC 29 April 1996¹⁴ , and

Council Directive No. 99/20/EC 22 March 1999¹⁵ .”;

(b) the substitution, for Regulation 2 (3), of the following paragraph.

“(3) A word or expression that is used in these Regulations and is also used in the Directives has the same meaning in these Regulations that it has in the Directive unless the contrary intention appears.”.

These Regulations amend the European Communities (Protein Feedingstuffs) Regulations, 1986 to 1999, so as to give effect to Council Directive 96/25/EC.
