S.I. No. 331/2001 - The Solicitors Acts, 1954 To 1994 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations, 2001
The Law Society of Ireland in exercise of the powers conferred on it by Sections 5 and 82 of the Solicitors Act, 1954 and with the concurrence of the President of the High Court HEREBY MAKE the following Regulations: | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
1. These Regulations may be cited as The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations, 2001. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
2. These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of October 2001 and The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprentices' Fees) Regulations, 2000 ( S.I. No. 225 of 2000 ) shall from that date stand revoked. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
3 (a) The words and phrases in these Regulations and in the Schedule hereto shall have the meanings assigned by the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 and (except insofar as it may be inconsistent with the provisions of the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994) The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 287 of 1997 ). | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
(b) The Interpretation Act, 1937 shall apply for the purposes of the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies for the purposes of the interpretation of an Act of the Oireachtas, except insofar as it may be inconsistent with the provisions of the Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 or The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 287 of 1997 ) or these Regulations. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
4. As and from the date on which these Regulations shall come into operation, the fees specified in the Schedule hereto shall be paid to the Society in respect of courses and examinations provided for in The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. The principal purpose of the Instrument is to provide for increases in the fees payable to the Law Society of Ireland in respect of courses and examinations provided for in The Solicitors Acts, 1954 to 1994 (Apprenticeship and Education) Regulations, 1997 ( S.I. No. 287 of 1997 ) operative from 1 October, 2001. |
