S.I. No. 342/2002 - European Communities (Registration of Holdings and Identification of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations 2002

I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), hereby make the following Regulations —

1.   These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Registration of Holdings and Identification of Animals) (Amendment) Regulations 2002.

2.   Subject to Article 3(12) of the Diseases of Animals Act 1966 (National Pig Identification and Tracing System) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 341 of 2002 ), the European Communities (Registration of Holdings and Identification of Animals) Regulations 1996 ( S.I. No. 1 of 1996 ) shall not apply to animals of the porcine species.

These Regulations remove the application of the European Communities (Registration of Holdings and Identification of Animals) Regulations 1996 ( S.I. No. 1 of 1996 ) to animals of the porcine species.
