S.I. No. 423/2002 - European Communities (Characteristics and Minimum Conditions For Examining Agriculture Varieties) Regulations 2002
I, Joe Walsh, Minister for Agriculture and Food, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) (as adapted by the Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of the Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 306 of 2002 )), and for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Directive 72/180/EEC of 14 April 19721 and Commission Directive 2002/8/EC of 6 February 20022 , hereby make the following Regulations: 1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Characteristics and Minimum Conditions for Examining Agriculture Varieties) Regulations 2002. 2. In these Regulations - | ||||||
“agricultural varieties” has the same meaning as in the Commission Directive; and | ||||||
“Commission Directive” means Commission Directive 72/180/EEC of 14 April 1972 as amended by Article 2 of Commission Directive 2002/8/EC of 6 February 2002. 3. An official inspection carried out for the acceptance of agricultural varieties shall cover the characteristics listed in Annex 1 of Commission Directive. 4. The conditions listed in Annex II of Commission Directive shall be fulfilled at time of inspection. | ||||||
