S.I. No. 451/2002 - Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 (Section 22) (Commencement) Order 2002

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (3) of the Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 (No. 15 of 2002), hereby order as follows:

1.        This Order may be cited as the Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 (Section 22 (Commencement) Order 2002.

2.        The 1st. day of October, 2002 is appointed as the day on which section 22 of the Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY MEMORANDUM

This Order provides that Section 22 of the Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 comes into force on 1 October 2002.

Section 22 of the Courts and Court Officers Act 2002 confers powers on County Registrars which extend and are in addition to those conferred on them by the Courts and Court Officers Act 1995 .
