S.I. No. 494/2002 - Solicitors (Amendment) Act 2002 (Commencement) Order 2002

I, Michael McDowell, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 (2) of the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 2002 (No. 19 of 2002), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 2002 (Commencement Order 2002.

2. In this Order the “Act of 2002” means the Solicitors (Amendment) Act 2002 (No. 19 of 2002).

3. (1) Sections 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 21 and 22 of the Act of 2002 shall come into operation on 1 November 2002.

(2) Section 8 of the Act of 2002 shall come into operation on 1 December 2002.

(3) Section 9, 11, and 19 of the Act of 2002 shall come into operation on 1 January 2003.
