S.I. No. 73/2003 - Local Government Act, 2001 (Part 15) Regulations, 2003

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 4 and 171 of the Local Government Act, 2001 (No. 37 of 2001) hereby makes the following Regulations:

1.     Citation

(1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Local Government Act, 2001 (Part 15) Regulations, 2003.

(2)  These Regulations and the Principal Regulations may be cited together as the Local Government Act, 2001 (Part 15) Regulations, 2002 and 2003 and shall be construed together as one.

2.     Commencement

These Regulations shall come into operation on 28 February 2003.

3.     Interpretation

In these Regulations —

the “prescribed form” means the form as prescribed by article 8 of the Principal Regulations;

the “Principal Regulations” means the Local Government Act, 2001 (Part 15) Regulations, 2002 ( S.I. No. 582 of 2002 ); and

“relevant employee” has the meaning given by article 3(2) of the Principal Regulations.

4.     Register of interests

In respect of a relevant employee, the particulars to be included in the register of interests kept by a local authority pursuant to section 172 of the Local Government Act, 2001 shall not include the address of that employee's home as entered on the prescribed form by him or her pursuant to the requirements of section 171 of that Act.

These Regulations deal with the particulars in the public register of annual declarations under Part 15 of the Local Government Act, 2001 .
