S.I. No. 704/2003 - Athlone Town Boundary Alteration Order, 2003

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 31 (1) of the Local Government Act, 1991 (No. 11 of 1991) hereby orders as follows:-

1.       This Order may be cited as the Athlone Town Boundary Alteration Order 2003.

2.       This Order shall come into operation on 1 January, 2004.

3.       The areas shown as “relevant areas” on the map attached to this Order titled “Athlone Town” and date stamped 2^nd December, 2003 shall be included in and form part of the town of Athlone and the boundary of that town shall accordingly stand altered in accordance with that map.

Explanatory note

This Order extends the boundary of Athlone Town from 1 January 2004. It should be read together with a separate order, the Athlone Town Boundary Alteration (Supplementary) Order, 2003, ( S.I. No. 705 of 2003 ) which contains supplementary provisions related to the boundary extension.
