S.I. No. 366/2005 - Business Names Regulations 2005


I, Michael Ahern, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 17 of the Registration of Business Names Act 1963 (No. 30 of 1963) (as adapted by the Enterprise and Employment (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 1997 ( S.I. No. 305 of 1997 ) and the Enterprise, Trade and Employment (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) (No.2) Order 2004 ( S.I. No. 808 of 2004 ), hereby order as follows:

1.         These Regulations may be cited as the Business Names Regulations 2005.

2.         These Regulations shall come into operation on 1 September 2005.

3.         The Business Names Regulations ( S.I. No. 291 of 2002 ) are amended -

(a)  in Regulation 5 by substituting “column 2 or 3” for “column 2”, and

(b)  by substituting for Schedule 1 the following:

4.         The Business Names Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 188 of 2003 ) are revoked.”.

This Order provides for a reduction in or disapplication of filing fees where certain specified documents are filed electronically with the Registrar of Business Names and for an increase in filing fees where documents are delivered in paper format to the Registrar of Companies.
