TOWN OF BRAY LOCAL ELECTORAL AREAS ORDER 2009

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 13th February, 2009.

The Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 3 and 24 of the
Local Government Act 1994
(No. 8 of 1994), hereby orders as follows:

1. This order may be cited as the Town of Bray Local Electoral Areas Order 2009.
|
| |
2. In this Order “the Town of Bray” means the Town of Bray as altered for the purposes of local elections by the Local Government (Boundaries) (Town Elections) Regulations 1994 (
S.I. No. 114 of 1994
) and references to the town boundary shall be construed accordingly.

3. (1) The Town of Bray shall be divided into the local electoral areas which are named in the first column of the Schedule to this Order.
|
| |
(2) Each such local electoral area shall consist of the area described in the second column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of such local electoral area.
|
| |
(3) The number of members of Bray Town Council to be elected for each such local electoral area shall be the number set out in the third column of the Schedule to this Order opposite the name of that local electoral area.
|
| |
4. (1) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to a line drawn along any road, street, lane, crescent or bridge shall be construed as a reference to an imaginary line drawn along the centre of such road, street, lane, crescent or bridge.
|

(2) A reference in the Schedule to this Order to the point at which any road, street, lane, crescent, bridge, boundary or imaginary line joins or intersects any other road, street, lane, crescent, bridge, boundary or imaginary line shall be construed as a reference to the point at which an imaginary line drawn along the centre of such road, street, lane, crescent or bridge or, in the case of a boundary or imaginary line, along the boundary or line would be joined or intersected by an imaginary line drawn along the centre of the other road, street, lane, crescent or bridge or, in the case of a boundary or imaginary line, along the boundary or line.

(3) A reference in the Schedule to this order to a line drawn along a road which consists of a dual carriageway shall be construed as a reference to a line drawn along the central median of such dual carriageway.

5. The Bray Urban District Local Electoral Areas Order 1998 (
S.I. No. 406 of 1998
) is hereby revoked.

That part of the town situated within a line drawn as follows: commencing at the intersection of the northern boundary of the town by the Dublin Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the eastern boundary of the town to its intersection with Vevay Road; thence commencing in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along Vevay Road to its intersection with O’Byrne Road; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along O’Byrne Road and Sugarloaf Crescent to its intersection by an imaginary line projecting in a northerly direction from the eastern boundary of the curtilage of the property known as Number 38 Sugarloaf Crescent; thence commencing in a southerly direction and proceeding along the said line to the south-easternmost point of the curtilage of the said property; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along the boundary of the rear curtilage of the properties known as Numbers 38, 37, 36, 35, 34, 33, 32 and 31 Sugarloaf Crescent and continuing along an imaginary line projecting in a westerly direction from the south-westernmost point of the curtilage of the property known as Number 31 Sugarloaf Crescent to its intersection by an imaginary line projecting in a southerly direction from the boundary between Giltspur Brook estate and Sugarloaf Crescent; thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along the said line and continuing in a northerly direction to the said boundary; thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along the said boundary to the north-easternmost point of the curtilage of the property known as Number 89 Giltspur Brook; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the boundary between Giltspur Brook estate and Oldcourt House, proceeding along the boundary of the walled stable area of Oldcourt House to the boundary between Giltspur Brook estate and Giltspur Wood estate; thence commencing in a south-westerly direction and proceeding along the boundary between Giltspur Brook estate and Giltspur Wood estate to the boundary between Giltspur Wood estate and Oldcourt Park; thence commencing initially in a north-westerly direction and proceeding along the boundary between Giltspur Wood estate and Oldcourt Park to the boundary between Giltspur Wood estate and Kilgraston Court and continuing in a north-westerly direction along the said boundary to its intersection with Oldcourt Park Road; thence commencing initially in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along the said road to its intersection with Killarney Road; thence commencing in a north-easterly direction and proceeding along Killarney Road, Main Street, Bray Bridge, Castle Street and Dublin Road to the intersection of the northern boundary of the town by the Dublin Road (starting point).

|
That part of the town situated within a line drawn as follows: commencing at the intersection of the northern boundary of the town by the Dublin Road and proceeding in a southerly direction along Dublin Road, Castle Street, Bray Bridge, Main Street to Killarney Road; thence proceeding in a south-westerly direction along Killarney Road to its intersection with Kilbride Lane; thence commencing in a westerly direction and proceeding along Kilbride Lane to its intersection with Herbert Road; thence commencing in a southerly direction along Herbert Road to its intersection with the town boundary; thence commencing in a northerly direction and proceeding along the town boundary to the intersection of the northern boundary of the town by the Dublin Road (starting point).
