S.I. No. 116/2010 - European Communities (Road Transport Activities Checks) (Amendment) Regulations 2010.
I, NOEL DEMPSEY, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powersconferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purposes of giving effect to Commission DirectiveNo. 2009/4/EC of 23 January 2009 1 and Commission Directive 2009/5/EC of30 January 2009 2 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Road Transport Activities Checks) (Amendment) Regulations 2010. | ||
2. Regulation 2(1) of the European Communities (Road Transport Activities Checks) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 545 of 2007 ) is amended by substituting for the definition of “Directive” the following: | ||
“ “Directive” means Directive No. 2006/22/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 March 2006 3 as amended by Commission Directive 2009/4/EC of 23 January 20091 and Commission Directive 2009/5/EC of 30 January 20092;”. | ||

These Regulations update the European Communities (Road Transport Activities Checks) Regulations 2007 in order to transpose and give effect to Commission Directive 2009/4/EC of 23 January 2009 and Commission Directive 2009/5/EC of 30 January 2009 in Ireland. | ||
