Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd April, 2013.

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (Certain Provisions) (Commencement) Order 2013.

2. The 27th day of March 2013 is fixed as the day on which the following provisions of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012), namely, sections 4 to 27, 29, 32 to 35, 37 and 38, 40 to 42, 44(c) and 46 to 48 come into operation on the day after the making of this Order.

This Order brings certain provisions of the Road Safety Authority (Commercial Vehicle Roadworthiness) Act 2012 (No. 16 of 2012) into operation. These provisions are concerned with the authorisation of testing certres and testers, the conduct of commercial vehicle testing, issuance of certificates of roadworthiness, enforcement and the conferral of certain functions on the Road Safety Authority.
