I, SIMON COVENEY, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) for the purpose of giving full effect to Commission Regulation (EC) No 504/2008 of 6 June 20081 and giving further effect to Council Directive 90/427/EEC of 26 June 19902 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as European Union (Identification of Equidae) (Amendment) (No. 2) Regulations 2015. | ||
2. The European Union (Identification of Equidae) Regulations 2014 ( S.I. No. 207 of 2014 ) are amended by inserting after Regulation 25(11) the following— | ||
“(11A) Where an authorised officer seizes and detains an equine animal under this Regulation, the officer may also seize and detain any unweaned offspring of the equine animal.”. | ||
