I, MICHAEL NOONAN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving further effect to Regulation (EU) No 236/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 14 March 20121 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
Citation | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Short Selling) (Amendment) Regulations 2015. | ||
Amendments to European Union (Short Selling) Regulations 2012 | ||
2. Regulation 5 of the European Union (Short Selling) Regulations 2012 ( S.I. No. 340 of 2012 ) is amended— | ||
(a) in paragraph (1), by substituting “may” for “shall”, and | ||
(b) in paragraph (2), by substituting “the requirements of the Short Selling Regulation or a notice under paragraph (1)” for “the requirement of a notice under paragraph (1)”. | ||
