Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 1st March, 2016.

I, Alex White T.D., Minister for Communications, Energy and National Resources, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 24 (2) of the Petroleum (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act 2015 (No. 26 of 2015), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Petroleum (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act 2015 (Commencement) Order 2016.

2. The day appointed as the day on which the Petroleum (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act 2015 (No. 26 of 2015) comes into operation is 29 February 2016.

This Order commences the provisions of the Petroleum (Exploration and Extraction) Safety Act, 2015 which transposes Directive 2013/30/EU on safety of offshore oil and gas operations.
