S.I. No. 229/2016 - Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015 (Part 3) (Commencement) Order 2016.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 10th May, 2016.

The Minister for Social Protection, in exercise of the powers conferred on her by section 1 (4) of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015 (No. 47 of 2015), hereby orders as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015 (Part 3) (Commencement) Order 2016.

2. The 9th day of May 2016 is appointed as the day on which Part 3 of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015 (No. 47 of 2015) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This order provides for the commencement of Part 3 of the Social Welfare and Pensions Act 2015 .

Part 3 provides for amendments to the Pensions Act 1990 to allow the holder of the office of the Financial Services Ombudsman to also hold the office of the Pensions Ombudsman.
