I, MICHAEL CREED, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 90/675/EEC1 of 10 December 1990 and Council Directive 91/496/EEC2 of 15 July 1991, hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Importation of Animals and Animal Products from Third Countries) (Amendment) Regulations 2016. | ||
2. The European Communities (Importation of Animals and Animal Products from Third Countries) Regulations 1994 (S.I. 255 of 1994) are amended by the insertion, after Regulation 6, of— | ||
“7.(1) An authorised officer may require the production of the original certificate relating to an animal or animal product to which these Regulations relate and may take up and retain the certificate.”. | ||
