I, Michael Creed, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972), for the purpose of giving effect to Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2019/990 of 17 June 20191 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Marketing of Vegetable Propagating and Plant Material, other than Seed) (Amendment) Regulations 2020. | ||
2. The European Communities (Vegetable Seeds) (Amendment) Regulations 2014 ( S.I. No. 152 of 2014 ) are amended in Regulation 2(1) by substituting for the definition of “Directive”, the following – | ||
“‘Directive’ means Council Directive No. 2008/72/EC of 15th July 20082 as amended by Commission Implementing Decision 2013/166/EU of 2 April 20133 , Commission Implementing Directive 2013/45/EU of 7th August 20134 and Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2019/990 of 17 June 2019.”; | ||

These Regulations give effect to the provisions of Commission Implementing Directive (EU) 2019/990 as they apply to Council Directive 2008/72/EC on the marketing of vegetable propagating and planting material, other than seed by updating the listing of scientific name of the species contained in Annex I and Annex II. | ||
