S.I. No. 414/2024 - Planning and Development (Increase in maximum number of Ordinary Board Members of An Bord Pleanála) Order 2024

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 104 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (No. 30 of 2000), as amended, (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 408 of 2020 )), hereby make the following order:

1. This Order may be cited as the Planning and Development (Increase in maximum number of Ordinary Board Members of An Bord Pleanála) Order 2024.

2. In accordance with section 104 (2) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 , as amended, the maximum number of ordinary board members that the Minister may appoint to An Bord Pleanála shall be 17. This order shall remain in effect until 1 January 2025.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

In exercise of the powers conferred on the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage by section 104 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (No. 30 of 2000), as amended, (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 408 of 2020 )), this Order increases the maximum number of ordinary board members of An Bord Pleanála that the Minister may appoint to 17. This is in addition to the Chairperson. This order will remain in effect until 1 January 2025.
