I, DARRAGH O’BRIEN, Minister for Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving full effect to Article 18 of Regulation (EC) No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 20091 and for the purpose of giving effect to Article 14(1) of Section 1 of Part A of Annex 31 to the Trade and Cooperation Agreement between the European Union and the European Atomic Energy Community, of the one part, and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, of the other part2 , hereby make the following regulations: | ||
1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Union (Occupation of Road Transport Operator) (Amendment) Regulations 2025. | ||
2. The European Union (Occupation of Road Transport Operator) Regulations 2018 ( S.I No. 265 of 2018 ) are amended by the insertion of the following Regulation after Regulation 3: | ||
“3A. The Minister is the national contact point for the purposes of Article 18 of the EU Regulation and Article 14(1) of Section 1 of Part A of the Annex.”. | ||

This Statutory Instrument gives full effect to Article 18 of Regulation (EC) No 1071/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 21 October 2009, as well as Article 14(1) of Section 1 of Part A of Annex 31 to the EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement. This Statutory Instrument designates a national contact point for the purposes of the Regulation and Agreement. | ||
