S.I. No. 37/2025 - Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events – Planning and Development Act 2000) Regulations 2025

I, JAMES BROWNE, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 231 (1) of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (No. 30 of 2000) (as adapted by the Housing, Planning and Local Government (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2020 ( S.I. No. 408 of 2020 )), hereby make the following regulations.

Citation

1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Planning and Development (Licensing of Outdoor Events – Planning and Development Act 2000) Regulations 2025.

(2) These regulations and the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2024 shall be construed as one and may be collectively cited as the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 to 2025.

Amendment of Article 186 of the Principal Regulations

3. Article 186 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 ( S.I. No. 600 of 2001 ) is amended by the substitution of sub-article (1A) with the following:

“(1A) A local authority shall not accept an application for a licence for a proposed event unless a pre-application consultation meeting under article 184 has taken place in relation to the event during the 36 month period prior to the date of the event to which the application relates or, in the case of an application for a number of events, 36 months prior to the holding of the first event.”
