I, JAMES BROWNE, Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by subsection (3) of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020) and being satisfied it is appropriate to do so having regard to the matters specified in paragraphs (a) to (c) of that subsection as they relate to the bodies to which the following order applies, hereby order as follows: | ||
Citation | ||
1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (Section 31) (The Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland and the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland) (Designation) Order 2025. | ||
Definitions | ||
2. In this Order— | ||
“Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland” means the registration body for Architects under Part 3 of the Building Control Act 2007 ; | ||
“Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland” means the registration body for Quantity Surveyors and Building Surveyors under Parts 4 and 5 respectively of the Building Control Act 2007 . | ||
Designation | ||
3. The following are designated for the purposes of section 31 of the Civil Law and Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020 (No. 13 of 2020) and may hold hearings before them, under the Building Control Act 2007 (No. 21 of 2007), by remote means: | ||
(a) the Royal Institute of the Architects of Ireland; | ||
(b) the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland. | ||
