Cheques on a Banker.

Cheque defined.

73. A cheque is a bill of exchange drawn on a banker payable on demand.

Except as otherwise provided in this Part, the provisions of this Act applicable to a bill of exchange payable on demand apply to a cheque.

[1 Ss. 76-82 are extended to any document issued by a customer of any banker, and intended to enable any person or body corporate to obtain payment from such banker of the sum mentioned in such document, as if such document were a cheque, 46 & 47 Vict. c. 55. s. 17.]
