TRADE BOARD (HAND EMBROIDERY TRADE) REGULATIONS, 1939. | ||
The Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by Section 11 of the Trade Boards Act 1909, as adapted by or under subsequent enactments, and of every and any other power him in this behalf enabling, hereby makes the following Regulations:— 1. In these Regulations— | ||
the expression " the Principal Regulations " means the Regulations dated the 1st day of March, 1933, made by the Minister for Industry and Commerce under Section II of the Trade Boards Act, 1909, with respect to the constitution of the trade board for the linen and cotton embroidery trade (Statutory Rules and Orders No. 48 of 1933) ; | ||
the expression " the Trade Board " means the trade board established by the Principal Regulations. 2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937) applies to these Regulations. 3. The scope of the Trade Board is hereby extended so as to cover the trade described in the Schedule hereto, and for this purpose the Trade Board shall, notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in the Principal Regulations, have the same powers as if the branches of the trade for which it was established had included all the branches of the trade described in the Schedule hereto. 4. The Principal Regulations are hereby amended by the substitution of the following Regulation for Regulation 13 thereof, that is to say :— | ||
" 13. The Trade Board may be known under the short title of " The Hand Embroidery Trade Board." 5. —(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Trade Board (Hand Embroidery Trade) Regulations, 1939. | ||
(2) The Principal Regulations and these Regulations may be cited together as the Trade Board (Hand Embroidery Trade) Regulations, 1933 and 1939. | ||
SCHEDULE. | ||
The Hand Embroidery Trade, that is to say :— | ||
All processes, done by hand, of embroidery, drawn-thread work, thread-drawing, thread-clipping, top-sewing, scalloping, nickelling and paring on handkerchiefs, wearing apparel for women or girls or for children, without distinction of sex, or articles for domestic or household use but excluding any process included in any other trade to which the Trade Boards Acts, 1909 and 1918, for the time being apply. | ||
