THE FIRE BRIGADES ACT, 1940 (DATE OF COMMENCEMENT) (No. 3) ORDER, 1940. | ||
DEPARTMENT OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND PUBLIC HEALTH. | ||
WHEREAS by section 19 of the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (in this Order referred to as " the Act ") it is enacted that the Act shall come into force on such day or days as may be appointed therefor by any Order or Orders of the Minister for Local Government and Public Health (hereinafter referred to as " the Minister ") and that different days may be so appointed in respect of different sanitary districts : | ||
AND WHEREAS by the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (Date of Commencement) (No. 1) Order, 1940, the Minister did order that the Act should come into operation on the 2nd day of September, 1940, in respect of the sanitary districts of the County Boroughs of Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Waterford and Borough of Dún Laoghaire : | ||
AND WHEREAS by the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (Date of Commencement) (No. 2) Order, 1940, the Minister did order that the Act should come into operation on the 4th day of October, 1940, in respect of the sanitary districts of the Urban Districts of Bray, Cobh, Dundalk, Borough of Drogheda and Borough of Wexford : | ||
AND WHEREAS it is expedient that the Act should come into force in respect of every other sanitary district : | ||
NOW, THEREFORE, the Minister in exercise of the powers so conferred on him hereby orders as follows, that is to say :— 1. This Order may be cited as the Fire Brigades Act, 1940 (Date of Commencement) (No. 3) Order, 1940. 2. The Act shall come into force on the first day of January, 1941, in respect of every sanitary district in which the Act is not already in force by virtue of either of the above-recited Orders of the Minister. | ||
