S.I. No. 291/1953 - Gárda Síochana (Appointments) Regulations, 1945 (Amendment) Regulations, 1953.

I, GERALD BOLAND, Minister for Justice, with the approval of the Government and in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 14 of the Police Forces Amalgamation Act, 1925 (No. 7 of 1925), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby order as follows :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Gárda Síochána (Appointments) Regulations, 1945 (Amendment) Regulations, 1953.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 10th day of September, 1953.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. Subparagraph (d) of paragraph (1) of Article 4 of the Gárda Síochana (Appointments) Regulations, 1945 ( S. R. & O. No. 173 of 1945 ), (which prescribes the general age limits for enrolment in the Force) is hereby amended by the substitution of " 25 years " for " 23 years."
