ROAD TRANSPORT ACT, 1932, REGULATIONS, 1953.

I, SEÁN F. LEMASS, Minister for Industry and Commerce, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 23 of the Road Transport Act, 1932 (No. 2 of 1932), and of every and any other power me in this behalf enabling, hereby make the following regulations :—

1.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1953.

(2) These Regulations and the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1932 to 1952, may be cited together as the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1932 to 1953.

2. The Interpretation Act, 1937 (No. 38 of 1937), applies to these Regulations.

3. Every passenger fare, as calculated under the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1951 ( S.I. No. 256 of 1951 ), and every charge mentioned in Scale D, E or F of the Schedule thereto may be increased by twelve and one-half per cent., any fraction of a penny in the result being reckoned as a penny.

4. Paragraph (1) of Article 3 of the Road Transport Act, 1932 , Regulations, 1952 ( S.I. No. 242 of 1952 ), is hereby revoked and these Regulations shall have effect as if that paragraph had not been made.
