ROAD TRAFFIC ACT, 1961 (SECTION 103) (OFFENCES) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1970.

The Minister for Local Government in exercise of the powers conferred on him by sections 5 and 103 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961), amended as regards the latter section by sections 6 and 64 of the Road Traffic Act, 1968 (No. 25 of 1968), hereby makes the following Regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) (Amendment) Regulations, 1970.

2. The Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) are hereby amended as follows—

(a) by the insertion in article 3 (3) after the word "section" of "89 or section";

(b) by the insertion in article 3 (3) (a) after the word "vehicle" of "or a mechanically propelled vehicle other than a mechanically propelled vehicle of a specified class,";

(c) by the insertion in article 3 (3) (b) after the word "fee" of "or without paying the said fee in the manner and at the time specified".

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations amend the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (Section 103) (Offences) Regulations, 1962 ( S.I. No. 91 of 1962 ) by declaring additional offences to which section 103 of the Road Traffic Act, 1961 (No. 24 of 1961) applies. These include parking in a meter parking place without paying the specified fee at the time in the manner specified, meter feeding and parking a vehicle other than a vehicle of a specified class.
