Functions of staff. |
22.— (1) The Courts Service may, notwithstanding any other provision of any enactment, appoint any member of staff of the Courts Service employed in a combined court office under section 21 as one or more of the following: | |
(a) a District Court clerk; | ||
(b) a principal officer, within the meaning of Part I of the Court Officers Act 1926 , of any office attached to the High Court or the President of the High Court. | ||
(2) A combined court office manager may, notwithstanding any other provision of any enactment, direct any member of staff of the Courts Service employed in a combined court office under section 21 to act as registrar to any of the following constituent courts: | ||
(a) the Central Criminal Court; | ||
(b) the Court of Criminal Appeal; | ||
(c) the Courts-Martial Appeal Court; | ||
(d) the Circuit Court. | ||
(3) Where, under subsection (2), a person is directed to act as registrar to a court mentioned in paragraphs (a) to (d) of that subsection, any reference in an enactment to a registrar of the court concerned is deemed to include such a person. |
