Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 9th March, 2012.

I, JAMES REILLY, Minister for Health, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 8 (2) of the Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 (No. 4 of 2012), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 (Commencement) Order 2012.

2. The 12th day of March 2012 is appointed as the day on which the Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 (No. 4 of 2012) shall come into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This Order brings the Health (Provision of General Practitioner Services) Act 2012 into operation. This Act provides for the elimination of restrictions on General Practitioners wishing to obtain contracts to treat public patients under the General Medical Services (GMS) Scheme.
