S.I. No. 232/2013 - Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Act 2013 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2013.

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 5th July, 2013.

I, PHILIP HOGAN, Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1 (2) of the Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Act 2013 (No. 16 of 2013), hereby order as follows:

1. This Order may be cited as the Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Act 2013 (Commencement) (No. 2) Order 2013.

2. The 1st day of July 2013 is appointed as the day on which the following provisions of the Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Act 2013 (No. 16 of 2013) come into operation:

(a) section 4(a);

(b) section 6;

(c) section 7;

(d) section 8;

(e) section 9;

(f) part 3.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

This Order brings into effect the sections of the Non-Use of Motor Vehicles Act 2013 providing for a prospective system of making declarations that vehicles will not be in use in a public place, including transitional arrangements for the move from the current retrospective system of making such declarations, and providing for an offence of making a false or misleading declaration of non-use.
