S.I. No. 472/2013 - European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

I, LEO VARADKAR, Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 of the European Communities Act 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) and for the purpose of giving effect to Council Directive 2013/15/EU of 13 May 2013¹ , in so far as it applies to the sale and entry into service of motor vehicles and their trailers, and systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles, hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.

2. The European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 448 of 2007 ) are amended by substituting for Schedule 1 (as inserted by Regulation 10 of the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations 2011 ( S.I. No. 234 of 2011 ), the following:

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation.)

The Regulations amend the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) Regulations 2007 ( S.I. No. 448 of 2007 ), which gave effect to several separate Directives that individually regulate many components, systems and separate technical units of relevant vehicles, in so far as those Directives relate to the registration and entry of certain motor vehicles into service. These Regulations replace the list of separate Directives set out in Schedule 1 to the Regulations of 2007 in order to take account of Council Directive 2013/15/EU on the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union.

These Regulations may be cited as the European Communities (Mechanically Propelled Vehicle Entry into Service) (Amendment) Regulations 2013.
