EXPLANATORY NOTE | ||
(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).
This Order is made under section 8 of the Roads Act, 2007 and provides for the declaration of three specific sections of the N11 as motorway.
On a motorway, higher default speed limits apply than on other public roads, access to specific types of road user or vehicle may be restricted, and protection can be afforded to the State’s investment in the national road network preventing premature obsolescence. |
