S.I. No. 598/2024 - Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2024

I, PETER BURKE, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by sections 4 , 9 , 11 , 12 , 13 , 15 , 18 , 19 , 21 , 22 , 23 , 24 , 25 , 26 , 27 , 28 , 29 , 31 , 32 , 33 , 34 , 35 , 36 , 37 , 39 , 40 , 41 , 43 , 44 , 45 , 46 , 47 , 50 and 63 of the Employment Permits Act 2024 (No. 17 of 2024) , hereby make the following regulations:

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Employment Permits (Amendment) (No. 4) Regulations 2024.

2. In these Regulations “Principal Regulations” means the Employment Permits Regulations 2024 ( S.I No. 444 of 2024 ).

3. Regulation 16 of the Principal Regulations is amended by substituting “Regulations 46, 53, and 70” for “Regulations 49 and 80”.

4. Regulation 43(a) of the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) by substituting “Regulation 42(1)(a)” for “Regulation 43(1)(a)”, and

(b) by substituting “Regulation 42(1)(b)” for “Regulation 43(1)(b)”.

5. The Principal Regulations are amended by re-numbering—

(a) the second Regulation numbered 65, with the heading “Minimum amount of remuneration payable under sports and cultural employment permit”, as Regulation 66,

(b) Regulation 66 as Regulation 67,

(c) Regulation 67 as Regulation 68,

(d) Regulation 68 as Regulation 69,

(e) Regulation 69 as Regulation 70,

(f) Regulation 70 as Regulation 71,

(g) Regulation 71 as Regulation 72, and

(h) Regulation 72 as Regulation 73.

6. Schedule 5 to the Principal Regulations is amended—

(a) in the entry for “Car mechanic, Motor mechanic, Auto electrician, Motor vehicle technician”—

(i) in column 2, by substituting “200” for “6”, and

(ii) in column 3, by substituting “30 October 2024” for “2nd September 2024”, and

(b) in column 2 of the entry for “Sea fisher in the Irish fishing fleet”, by substituting “150” for “884”.
