S.I. No. 180/2025 - Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025

Notice of the making of this Statutory Instrument was published in

“Iris Oifigiúil” of 2nd May, 2025.

The Government, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 6 (1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) Act 1939 (No. 36 of 1939), hereby order as follows:

1. (1) This Order may be cited as the Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (Alteration of Name of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2025.

(2) This Order comes into operation on 2 May 2025.

2. The name of the Department of State, the present name of which is, in the Irish language, an Roinn Leanaí, Comhionannais, Míchumais, Lánpháirtíochta agus Óige and, in the English language, the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an Roinn Leanaí, Míchumais agus Comhionannais and, in the English language, to that of the Department of Children, Disability and Equality.

3. The title of the Minister having charge of the Department of State, whose present title is, in the Irish language, an tAire Leanaí, Comhionannais, Míchumais, Lánpháirtíochta agus Óige and, in the English language, the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth is altered, in the Irish language, to that of an tAire Leanaí, Míchumais agus Comhionannais and, in the English language, to that of the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality.

4. In any enactment or any instrument made under an enactment -

(a) references to the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth shall be construed as references to the Department of Children, Disability and Equality, and

(b) references to the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth shall be construed as references to the Minister for Children, Disability and Equality.
