COINAGE (DIMENSION OF TEN PENCE COIN) REGULATIONS, 1993. | ||
I, BERTIE AHERN, Minister for Finance, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 3 (6) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969), hereby make the following Regulations: 1. (1) These Regulations may be cited as the Coinage (Dimension of Ten Pence Coin) Regulations, 1993. | ||
(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the 1st day of November, 1993. 2. In these Regulations "ten pence coin" means a coin of the denomination of ten pence provided under section 3 (1) of the Decimal Currency Act, 1969 (No. 23 of 1969). 3. The diameter of a ten pence coin shall be 2.2000 centimetres and, accordingly, the First Schedule to the Coinage (Dimensions and Designs) Regulations, 1969 ( S.I. No. 160 of 1969 ), is hereby amended by the substitution opposite the mention of ten pence of "2.2000" for "2.8500". 4. The graining upon the edge of a ten pence coin shall be of coarse mill. 5. The rim of a ten pence coin shall be beaded. | ||
