ROAD TRAFFIC (NATIONAL CAR TEST) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 2005.

I, IVOR CALLELY, Minister of State at the Department of Transport, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 18 of the Road Traffic Act 1961 ( No. 24 of 1961 ), the National Roads and Road Traffic (Transfer of Departmental Administration and Ministerial Functions) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 298 of 2002 ) (as adapted by the Public Enterprise (Alteration of Department and Title of Minister) Order 2002 ( S.I. No. 305 of 2002 )) and the Transport (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2004 ( S.I. No. 840 of 2004 ) hereby make the following regulations:

1.  (1)  These Regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (National Car Test) (Amendment) Regulations 2005.

(2)  These Regulations come into operation on 1 March 2005.

2.  Regulation 9 of the Road Traffic (National Car Test Regulations 2003 ( S.I. No. 405 of 2003 ) is amended—

(a)  by substituting for paragraph (1) the following:

“(1) Subject to paragraphs (2) and (3), the fee to be paid for a test certificate shall be—

(a) €40.50, in the case of a test certificate issued following a test of a vehicle and

(b) €22.73, in the case of a test certificate issued following a re-test of a vehicle.”,

and

(b)  in paragraph (4), by substituting “€74.38” for “€73.97”.

EXPLANATORY NOTE.

These Regulations revise, with effect from 1 March 2005 the fee for a NCT test, a retest and a taxi suitability test to €40.50, €22.73 and €74.38 respectively. The fees specified are exclusive of Value Added Tax.
