ORDER

Education and Science (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2006

The Government, on the request of the Minister for Education and Science and in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 2(1) of the Ministers and Secretaries (Amendment) (No.2) Act 1977 (No. 28 of 1977), hereby order as follows:

1.   This Order may be cited as the Education and Science (Delegation of Ministerial Functions) Order 2006.

2.   The powers and duties of the Minister for Education and Science conferred on her by or under section 7 (1) (c) of the Education Act 1998 (No. 51 of 1998) in so far as it relates to early childhood education other than those powers or duties that require that the Minister to give her agreement to the exercise of any power or performance of any duty by another Minister, are delegated to Brian Lenihan, Minister of State at the Department of Education and Science.
