CIVIL LIABILITY (AMENDMENT) ACT 2017 | ||
An Act to amend the Civil Liability Act 1961 to provide for the award of damages by way of a periodic payments order in certain circumstances where a plaintiff has suffered catastrophic injuries; to amend the Insurance Act 1964 ; to amend the Bankruptcy Act 1988 ; to amend the Taxes Consolidation Act 1997 ; to amend the Civil Liability and Courts Act 2004 ; to make provision for the making, by health services providers, of the open disclosure of patient safety incidents; to provide, in the interest of the common good, for certain restrictions on the use of information provided in an open disclosure of a patient safety incident that is made by a health services provider in accordance with this Act, the use of any apologies made in that open disclosure and the use of any other information relating to the open disclosure provided, and apology made, after the open disclosure meeting; and to provide for related matters. | ||
