REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS ACT, 1973 | ||||||||||
AN ACT TO AMEND AND EXTEND THE REDUNDANCY PAYMENTS ACTS, 1967 AND 1971. [28th June, 1973] | ||||||||||
BE IT ENACTED BY THE OIREACHTAS AS FOLLOWS: | ||||||||||

Amendment of section 28 of Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 . |
1.— Section 28 of the Redundancy Payments Act, 1967 , which specifies the amount of weekly contributions to the Redundancy Fund, is hereby amended by the insertion after subsection (3) of the following new subsection: | |||||||||
“(3A) Notwithstanding anything in section 27 or this section of this Act, a redundancy contribution shall not be payable by an employed contributor (within the meaning of the Social Welfare Act, 1952 ) who is in receipt of a widow's (contributory) pension, a widow's (non-contributory) pension, deserted wife's benefit, a deserted wife's allowance or a social assistance allowance under section 8 of the Social Welfare Act, 1973 .”. | ||||||||||

Short title, collective citation and commencement. |
2.—(1) This Act may be cited as the Redundancy Payments Act, 1973 . | |||||||||
(2) The Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 and 1971, and this Act may be cited together as the Redundancy Payments Acts, 1967 to 1973. | ||||||||||
(3) This Act shall come into operation on such day as the Minister appoints by order. | ||||||||||
