Penalties. |
8.—(1) Every person guilty of an offence under subsection (2) of section 12 of the Act of 1965 in respect of a contravention of or failure to comply with an order under section 9 of that Act or every person guilty of an offence under subsection (1) or (6) of section 6 of this Act or who, by virtue of subsection (4) or (7) of that section, is deemed to have committed such an offence, shall be liable— | |
(a) on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding £1,000, or | ||
(b) on conviction on indictment, to a fine not exceeding £50,000. | ||
(2) Every person guilty of an offence under section 6 (3) of this Act or who, by virtue of subsection (4) or (7) of that section, is deemed to have committed such an offence, shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £1,000. |
