Evidence may be oral, &c.

23. The Lord Chancellor intrusted as aforesaid, or the master, may direct that the evidence in the matter of a lunatic, or on any particular proceeding in the matter, be taken orally, or partly orally and partly by affidavit, and it shall be so taken accordingly.
