Lunacy Regulation (Ireland) Act, 1871

Lord Chancellor or master may administer oath.

24. The Lord Chancellor intrusted as aforesaid, or the master, or any person or persons holding an inquiry touching lunacy, whether under this Act or otherwise, may, in the matter of a lunatic or alleged lunatic, cause an oath to be administered to any witness, whether his deposition or affidavit is to be used before him or not; and the registrar for the time being is hereby authorized to administer oaths and take affidavits in all matters in lunacy; provided that the registrar shall not be required to go out of his office to administer any such oath or take any such affidavit.
